PRIMA - Perception, Recognition and Integration for Interactive Environments

KEY WORDS :  Context Aware Systems and Services, Multi-Modal Perception, Embedded View Invariant Computer Vision, Human-Computer Interaction, Ambient Intelligence, Smart Environments.

Objectives

Research activities in project PRIMA  concern:
  • Context-aware systems and services,
  • Software architectures for multi-modal perception,
  • Real-time image description for embedded computer vision systems, and
  • New forms of man-machine interaction using machine perception.
Research towards these four challenges has been tightly integrated, with each area providing problems, experiments, and technologies for the other areas. For example, work on multi-modal perception, and situation modeling has enabled experiments with new forms of human computer interaction. Work on real time face and body detection for embedded vision is used for learning situation models for context aware services.
